Ukrainians gather in Warsaw on 24th February
Displaced Ukrainians and Polish supporters gathered in Warsaw to mark the one year anniversary of the Ukraine war on 24th February.
D&S Ukraine’s Director Valeriia Kuptsova attended the event, joining thousands of exiled Ukrainians in front of the Russian embassy in Warsaw. Protesters held Ukrainian flags and signs with the names of Ukrainians who were killed in the war.
Thank you Poland
Ukraine’s Ambassador in Poland Vasyl Zvarych spoke at the gathering in Warsaw. He thanked the Polish people and assured Ukrainians that Poland is one of many strong and supportive allies who will continue to help Ukraine. On this one year anniversary, he gave Ukrainians a powerful message of hope for the months ahead.
Commenting on Twitter, Vasyl Zvarych said, “On February 24, 2022, we hoisted the flag of Ukraine in front of the National Security Bureau. It is still present today as a symbol of constant support for the Nation fighting for independence and common values.”
At D&S Ukraine, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Polish government and our friends in Poland for their help and support during the last year.
